We are a family of ten that loves to go on adventures together. This is good because in a family this size, each day tends to be an adventure of some kind—especially because we homeschool and spend a lot of time together. Our home is rarely quiet. However, it is peaceful and filled with a lot of laughter, joy, and people who genuinely like one another.
We are a couple that has been married for over twenty years. We work together, parent, and manage every day life together—and yet we still genuinely love (& like!) one another! Truly best friends, it’s crazy to think we almost didn’t make it through a rough patch early in our marriage. Today we are deeply in love, living out our very own “happily ever after”.
I am a wife, mom to eight on earth (& in heaven), daughter/sister/aunt, pastor/senior leader, friend, and woman in my forties still figuring out who I am, but finally outgrowing my insecurities & fears. I am a lover of coffee, books, traveling/exploring/adventures, sports talk radio, and—above all—Jesus. His goodness & kindness to me is beyond compare.
Why this blog?
My life is so much different than I dreamed it would be. Though it is not what I planned, it is so much better! This is at least partly because the Lord has placed so many amazing people in my path. Each time my life took an unexpected turn or a new “season” started, there was just the right person to inspire, encourage, and teach me. My desire is to simply pass on what I’ve learned from them & from my own personal journey. While I will do my best to give you practical helps so you will thrive personally and in the midst of your relationships, I mostly want to give you hope. Life is beautiful—even the messy bits. And, living with joy is not a result of chance or circumstance. It is something you can cultivate in your heart & home until it becomes your daily reality.
